RN Villa – COVID-19 Update


Dear Residents, Representatives, and Families:

As you know, health care providers across the country are facing unique challenges in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.  I am writing to advise residents, representatives, and families that we learned that a staff member tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.

We immediately conducted rapid tests of residents and staff with negative results at this time.  We have obtained PCR testing supplies and will be testing all residents and staff in the next 24 hours, and expect results within 1-2 days from the lab.  We request that all residents remain in their apartments, and wear appropriate PPE any time they leave their apartment.

The facility is following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) related to infection control and prevention at senior living communities.  Helpful information can be found on the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/long-term-care.html

All staff are wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with CDC guidelines, including eyewear, masks, gowns, and gloves.  Visitors has been excluded from the building except in certain, very limited circumstances such as end of life situations on a case-by-case basis.  All staff and visitors are screened for signs of illness upon entrance to the facility in accordance with CDC guidelines.
